I have been thinking a lot after my last post. There is a lot of challenges in life as we all know. But why don’t we do more or dare to do more?
Embarking on a journey to change careers and start fresh in a new location is a bold and courageous decision or I think so. It signifies a willingness to embrace change, step outside of one’s comfort zone and pursue a path that aligns more closely with one’s passions and aspirations. Whether driven by a desire for personal growth, a need for greater fulfilment or just simply a thirst for adventure, such a transition can be both daunting and exhilarating. Don’t you think?
The decision to change work fields completely and relocate to a new place often stems from a deep-seated longing for something more – a sense that there is untapped potential waiting to be realised beyond the confines of our current circumstances.
Perhaps you’ve come to the realisation that you current career no longer brings you joy or fulfillment or maybe you’ve discovered a newfound passion that ignites a fire within you. Or in plain words, I am just bored and I need to do something else before I die within myself!!
Whatever the catalyst may be, embarking on just this journey requires careful planning, self-reflecting and a willingness to embrace uncertainty. it is not just about finding a new job or moving to another city or country, it is about embarking on a transformative journey of self-discovery and reinvention. Or maybe it is not about self- discovery because it sounds like a such cliché maybe it is all about “this is not what I want from life “and nothing else.
The first step in this process is often introspection. Take the time to reflect on your strengths, passion and values. What brings you joy? What are you truly passionate about? By gaining clarity in what truly matters to you, you can begin to identify potential career paths and locations that align with you aspirations.
Once you have identified your goals, it is time to take action. This may involve acquiring new skills or qulifications to transition into your desired field, networking with professionals in your chosen industry or exploring job opportunities in your target location. Be prepared to invest time and effort into making your dreams a reality and do not be afraid of guidance or/and support along the way.
Relocation to a new place can also present its own set of challenges and opportunities. It’s a chance to immerse yourself in a new culture, explore unfamiliar surroundings and forge new connections. While it may feel daunting to leave behind the familiar comforts of home, embracing this sense of adventure can open doors to new experiences. I have felt this every time I have moved to a new country.
Of course, embarking on a journey of this magnitude is not without its risks and uncertainty. There will be setbacks and doubts a long the way ( well I feel it already, but I still think it is worth it) and of course there will unforeseen challenges to overcome. But is it not in time of change and adversity that we discover our true strength and resilience? Well I actually do not know , maybe yes maybe no. But it sounds nice. And if we do not find strength and resilience it is also ok, at least we are trying and giving it a go.
As I embark on this new chapter of my life ( soon, it is in a few months, let’s say new chapter will start in the fall of 2024), I will do my best to be curious and challenge my self. I will not keep it safe all the time. I know I am capable and I have the ability to adapt and thriven what will be my new environment. I have decided I need to find a place that will be my home for a very long time. I am very excited to at least have made a decision. Now I just need to decide the country and city to move to.
In the word of author and motivational speaker Tony Robbins, who Is my guru even if he has asked us not to call him a guru, ” The only limit to your impact is your imagination and commitment”. There will never be a right time as the saying goes and I do find it to be true. I and you all who want a change have to make it happen now , the timing will never be right. I do not want to look back on my life an regret that I did not have the courage to change things. Worst case scenario, I will move in to my moms house and I personally don’t find that so bad.
Dare to dream big, be courage and seize the opportunity to create a life that truly reflects the the essence of who you are. . . And if you do not know yet who you are give it time and work on it and it will show in time, hopefully.
Cheers Darlings!
Nikki
